Information here comes from the official United Women in Faith website.
United Women in Faith is our global women's organization. We are a group of passionate and powerful women who seek to use our bold faith to serve our communities and empower one another as champions of Christ.
Founded in 1869 as the Methodist Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society, we have worked nonstop to provide opportunities for women to lead and create impact in their local community. Through championing for equality for women and fighting for justice, we have helped transform thousands of communities around the world thanks to the talents and gifts that our women have provided.
As of 1970, United Women in Faith (formerly known as United Methodist Women) became the first women's mission organization as a part of Global Ministries. And as of 2012, we have become a nationally autonomous policymaking body.

Our purpose
As stated in the Book of Discipline:
United Methodist Women shall be actively engaged in fulfilling the mission of Christ and the Church and United Methodist Women’s national organization shall interpret the Purpose of United Methodist Women for the whole organization. With continuing awareness of the concerns and responsibilities of the Church in today’s world, United Methodist Women shall support ministry with and advocate for the oppressed and dispossessed with special attention to the needs of women, children, and youth; shall work to build a supportive community among women; and shall engage in activities that foster growth in the Christian faith, mission education, and Christian social involvement throughout the organization.

Faith Circles
A fundamental part of United Women in Faith is circles. Circles allow for intentional growth and community, and they each have special interests, missions, and purposes. Often separated by age or lifestyle, there is a circle for anyone to join. If not, talk to Pastor Betty about starting your own! Here at Holstein United Methodist Church, we have three circles that meet as a part of United Women in Faith. Find information about them below to learn about how often they meet.
